Formal Events Honor Guard

One of the great privileges of being a scout is the opportunity to perform Flag Ceremonies to honor our great country. This is quite an honor to perform such duties, and they must be done in the highest caliber possible, and with dignity, respect, and class. You are the spotlight representing all that is good in our nation. Do your best, and be prepared!
For all formal events, the Honor Guard, and all scouts, and leaders in attendance should present themselves in a proud, sharp manner, in full Class A uniforms. |
Honor GuardFull Class A uniform.
• Shirts pressed, and tucked in. • Clean pants. No shorts or jeans. • Insignia & patches are correct. • Hats, only if 100% have it. • Neckerchief with slide. • Boy Scout Sash if earned. • White Gloves |
Scouts• Full Class A uniform.

Leadership• Full Class A uniform.

Full Class B uniform.
Parents who are not official leaders or do not have the official scouting uniform. • Full Class B uniform. • Class B+ if possible. • Shirts pressed. • Clean pants. • Preferably No shorts or jeans. • Class B+ uniform is our red castle logo polo shirt. • Class B uniform is our red castle logo T-shirt. |
Opening Ceremony
FORMAL FLAG CEREMONY -- OPENING COLORS
Color Guard, Attention! (**when commanding the color guard, say the word “attention” in an authoritative way… like, “Aaa-tennnn-TION!!!!” – this will also help the audience realize that the flag ceremony is starting**)
Audience, Please Rise! (if some or all of audience is currently seated)
Color Guard, Forward March!
Scout Salute! Those not in uniform, please place your right hand over your heart. (**say this right away, as the audience will salute the flag as it’s being marched forward**)
(wait for color guard to reach the front)
Color Guard, Halt!
Color Guard, Prepare to Raise Colors!
Color Guard, Raise the Flag of the United States of America!
Color Guard, Raise the Flag of the Great State of California!
Color Guard, Honor your Colors! (**Flag bearers salute the US flag**)
(Raise other flags such as pack, troop, crew, etc.)
Please join me in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge allegiance - to the Flag - of the United States of America -
And to the Republic - for which it stands -
One Nation - Under God – Indivisible - and with Liberty and Justice for All
