Kenton's Eagle Project
Hello Family and Friends, I have decided to pack 100 boxes through Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child for my Eagle Scout Project. I will be packing the boxes on August 6, 2022 from 10:30am - 2:30pm at First Presbyterian Church in Garden Grove 11832 Euclid St. Garden Grove, CA. I am in need of several items donated to fill these boxes so that children in need will get them this coming Christmas season. Boxes will be tracked so that we will be able to see what countries they go to. Boxes have gone as close as Native American Reservations here in the U.S. and as far as Uganda. Samaritan's Purse sends them wherever there are children in need. This is a Christian organization so any Christian items are welcome in the boxes as well as new clothing, plushies, school supplies, personal hygiene items, toys and games. All items must be brand new and be able to fit in a shoe box. They do not allow any food or candy items in the boxes. They also do not allow anything with liquid such as toothpaste, bubbles, or liquid glue bottles or war toys such as toy guns. All donations will be used to fill the boxes. Children who receive these boxes will only get one box in a lifetime so we try fill them up with several items and make them as special as possible. This project is the culmination of over a decade of scouting for me, and the final piece on my road to Eagle Scout. Please share this page on social media, and thanks for your help. Something as simple as helping an elderly person cross the street, to bigger Service Projects, and in some cases maybe saving a life. Have you done a good turn today. To the right are some of the Service Projects #Scout 75 participants regularly participate in. We are involved in a bevy of projects with a wide scope of people bearing the positive results of the kid's hard work.

The project was set to create 100 Shoeboxes filled with goodies, and at least one wow item, for the children of Operation Christmas Child. 101 Shoeboxes were completed for this project. A wide variety of shoeboxes was created. The main focus was on 2-4 year old age group, as they tend to get overlooked some. The rest was done for the 5-9 year old age group, and 10-14 years.
