Operation Xmas Child
Each November Pack 75 and Troop 75 participate in the charity, Operation Christmas Child. The premise is to fill as many shoe boxes with items that will then be shipped overseas to needy children.
The boxes are broken up into several groups: First a box is deemed either for a boy or a girl Second it is divided by age groups as follows: 2-4 5-9 10-14 Some of the items required in each box are: Basic hygiene items like: toothbrush and toothpaste mild bar soap enclosed in a plastic bag comb or small hair brush wash cloth School supplies like: wooden pencils eraser sharpener pen Toys, one or more of these items: small car ball doll stuffed animal yo-yo jump rope small Etch-A-Sketch Other School supplies like: crayons markers stamp and ink pad set solar calculator coloring books Volunteers can also write a note and or photo in an envelope to the child. If your name and address is included the child may write back. Items not to be placed in boxes are: Not included are any damaged items, war-related items like toy guns, knives, military figures, chocolate or food. |
