On Friday, December 7, 2014 at 8 PM the Scouts will be going to Irvine Park to ride the Christmas Train. The train will take them to the North Pole where they will be able to visit with Santa Claus. Then when they return to the train station they will be able to draw and do other activities. The cost is $10 per person, plus a $7.50 single charge for each group of tickets ordered. Tickets were purchased for those that agreed to it and gave us a final head count. You can still purchase on your own, if they have not sold out yet, and meet us there. Tickets are only available online and are for scheduled times, 6, at 8 PM. For more information you can visit the Christmas Train with Santa at Irvine Park. ![]() This month we collectively filled 25 boxes for Operation Christmas Child as one of our Service Projects. Service Projects are things Scouts do to give back to their community, both local, and long distance. Service Projects are one of the core items taught in Scouting that teach the kids to understand that there are those in life less fortunate and our civil duty to give a hand. Good citizens help to build a stronger community. We decided this year to write one letter collectively to be put in each box. On occasion, the recipients of these goody filled boxes write back. Since all the kids worked on all the boxes it seemed appropriate to send a letter from all of them instead of individual ones. It turned out great! Learn more about the Service Projects we participate in, and get more details about this one by visiting our page on Operation Christmas Child. See what the boxes look like on next page. ![]() Monday, November 11, 2014 the members of 75 remembered Veterans Day by performing the weekly flag ceremony but today's activities included the proper care, display, and folding of the American flag. The pledge of Allegiance is how we officially open all of our weekly meetings. Thank you Veterans for your service! We Salute you! ![]() Today, was the 25th Annual canned food drive. Our group all participated in this annual holiday season tradition. The cans are collected by our kids and parents, and then today brought down to the drop off location and passed on to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Thanks to all for their help in this great cause! ![]() Today, with the help of parents we put together 25 boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Shoe boxes are filled with some basics like soap and a wash cloth, along with pencils, pads, and small toys to be shipped overseas to needy children. Thanks to all our members for their continued participation in this annual tradition. |
